~ Session Details ~
With each of my sessions I strive to do something special and unique (just like you!) I love creating a fun, laid back atmosphere for everyone during the session. This really allows me to start making some photography magic! If you have a certain theme or idea for your session please let me know-- I want to make the experience and your portraits as special and customized as I can. Here are some of the most frequent asked questions!
When should I book my newborn session?
I recommend booking your newborn session once you enter your 2nd trimester. If you have already had your baby and have not booked yet please contact me as I may be able to fit you in my schedule. Those newborns are hard to resist :)
How old should my baby be for their newborn session?
Newborns are best photographed between 5-14 days old. At this point they are super curly and sleepy. If your baby is older I will still deliver to you gorgeous images but we may not get all of the 'typical' newborn poses.
How will I know what date to book for my newborn session?
Once I receive the retainer fee of $100.00 I will schedule your newborn session for your due date. Once your baby is born please send me a quick message and we will then decide on the exact date for your session. Newborns are best photographed at 5-14 days old.
When and where will my newborn session take place?
I schedule all newborn sessions Mon-Fri at 10:00. During Summer months I do offer outdoor newborn sessions. These are taken in the outdoor area at my studio. These are scheduled in the evening for the best lighting.
All newborn sessions take place in my small studio in Sherrills Ford, NC. At this time I do not travel for newborn sessions.
Do you have all the props for my newborn session?
I provide all the adorable props needed for a fabulous session. I have an extensive collection of hats, bonnets, headbands, wraps and newborn outfits to use. If you have something special you would like to bring please let me know and I will try to incorporate it as best as I can. Please limit what you bring to 1 or 2 items.
When should I book my child or family session?
I normally book out a few months in advance. Spring and Fall are my busiest times for outdoor family and child sessions. For these please contact me 3 months in advance to insure you get a date that works for your family.
What time will family or outdoor child session take place?
To get that beautiful sun-drenched look I schedule all outdoor sessions 1-1.5 hours before sunset. If sunset is 7:00 we will schedule your session at 5:30/6:00. Lighting is such an important part of getting beautiful portraits so scheduling as close to this time frame will make a great difference in making your portraits just what you want!
Where do you take outdoor portraits?
I have several beautiful spots I love taking outdoor portraits at. Once you book a session we can talk about what setting will work best for your session. I am happy to travel for a family portrait session, however, there is a travel fee of .50 per mile for distances over 25 miles from 28609.
For Mini sessions I have a select few outdoor locations that are available to use.

Can we bring extra family members to the session?
For Newborn Sessions: My studio is very small so I ask that a maximum of 2 adults come to the session. If siblings will be included in a few portraits I suggest having Dad or someone else take them on a fun date after their portion is completed.
For Family Sessions: For larger groups with extra family members please contact me for a separate session quote.
May we take pictures at our session?
You may take snap shots with your phone. Please no video taping or professional cameras.
How do I book?
Contact me via email or the "contact" tab to schedule your session. Once you pay the retainer fee your spot on my calendar will be secured.
How will I receive my portraits?
Within 2 weeks of your session you will receive an email with a link and password to access your gallery. You can download your images directly to your computer.
How much does a session cost?
I offer several sessions including Full Newborn & Newborn Mini sessions, Maternity & Newborn Combinations, Milestone Sessions, Cake Smash sessions, Child/Family sessions and Baby's First Year Packages.
I have several collections with prices ranging from $250 – $1900.
